Role Purpose
The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Head of Finance in managing the day-to-day finance operations of the Singapore club and its local entities. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely month-end reporting, compliance with statutory requirements and the effective operation of finance processes. The Assistant Finance Manager supervises the finance team, drives operational excellence and acts as deputy to the Head of Finance when required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Partnering
Support the Head of Finance in providing financial guidance to Heads of Department.
Attend departmental meetings as required and assist with financial analysis and cost control initiatives.
Prepare financial information to support operational decision-making.
Assist in reviewing monthly financial performance and follow up on agreed actions.
Financial Control and Transaction Processing
Oversee daily finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, membership billing, cashiering, banking and general ledger maintenance.
Review and ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate accounting records.
Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies.
Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities under the direction of the Head of Finance.
Financial Reporting
Coordinate the monthly close process to ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets and supporting schedules.
Prepare variance analysis and management reports with commentary.
Support monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting process.
Produce ad hoc financial analysis and reports as required.
Revenue, Income Audit and Cost Control
Review daily revenue reports and income audit processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Monitor food, beverage and wine cost reports, inventory reconciliations and stock takes.
Review accounts receivable ageing and support collection activities.
Process and review approved allowances, adjustments and member account corrections.
Internal Controls, Risk and Audit
Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies and delegated authority limits.
Review purchase orders, expense claims and payment documentation before approval.
Assist in maintaining segregation of duties across finance processes.
Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests.
Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation.
Statutory and Regulatory Compliance
Prepare GST returns, corporate tax schedules and other statutory filings for review by the Head of Finance.
Assist in ensuring compliance with IRAS, ACRA and other Singapore regulatory requirements.
Maintain finance records and statutory documentation.
Support administration of banking mandates and authorised finance access.
Systems and Process Improvement
Assist in implementing finance system enhancements and automation initiatives.
Promote the use of digital workflows and document management systems.
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and increase operational efficiency.
Leadership and Team Development
Supervise and support members of the finance team.
Provide coaching, training and day-to-day guidance.
Allocate workloads and monitor performance to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Act as deputy to the Head of Finance during periods of absence.
Foster strong working relationships with operational departments and external stakeholders.

Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial, employee and member information.
Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
Person Specification
Essential
Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification (CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, ACA or CIMA) or actively pursuing qualification.
Minimum 5–7 years' finance experience, preferably within hospitality, F&B or private members' clubs.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, GST, SFRS/IFRS and Singapore statutory requirements.
Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger processes.
Experience supervising finance staff.
Proficient in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with Xero and document automation tools is advantageous.
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
Experience in a multi-entity or group reporting environment.
Experience supporting finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Hospitality or luxury service industry experience.
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.
