Software Engineer – IoT & Smart Water Solutions - #1165250

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain IoT platforms for smart water monitoring and remote asset management.

• Build backend services, APIs, dashboards, and real-time data applications.

• Develop and integrate software for microcontrollers, IoT devices, RTUs, gateways, and field sensors.

• Connect embedded devices to cloud platforms using cellular, LoRaWAN, and other IoT technologies.

• Process and visualise real-time data from field sensors.

• Develop device management, alarm, reporting, and remote monitoring features.

• Integrate protocols and technologies such as MQTT, REST API, and cellular IoT.

• Support firmware development, device testing, debugging, and hardware-software integration.

• Deploy and maintain applications using cloud, container, and DevOps technologies.

• Work closely with IoT, instrumentation, AI, and engineering teams to develop next-generation smart water solutions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, IT, or a related discipline.

• Experience in software, IoT, embedded systems, or full-stack development.

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as, Python, C/C++, Java or C#.

• Experience with microcontroller technologies, embedded programming, firmware development, and hardware-software integration.

• Familiarity with MCU platforms such as STM32, ESP32 or similar is an advantage.

• Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, RS485, MQTT, and REST APIs.

• Experience with databases, web applications, and cloud platforms.

• Knowledge of IoT architecture, time-series data, device management, or edge computing is an advantage.

• Experience with Docker, microservices, CI/CD, or cloud deployment is an advantage.

• Knowledge of AI, machine learning, or data analytics would be an added advantage.

• Strong problem-solving skills and interest in IoT and emerging technologies.

• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a small, agile technical team.

• Good written and spoken English.
