Key Responsibilities

  • Own equipment performance, process stability, and manufacturability in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.

  • Lead technical troubleshooting of process excursions, equipment drift, process instability, contamination issues, and yield-related challenges.

  • Support process tuning, parameter optimization, equipment qualification, and process validation activities.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve equipment availability, process capability, product quality, and yield.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful technology transfer, equipment readiness, and production ramp-up.

  • Monitor and improve equipment and process performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), and statistical data analysis.

  • Partner with Equipment and Maintenance teams to enhance preventive maintenance strategies, calibration programs, and equipment performance standards.

  • Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Best Known Methods (BKMs), qualification reports, and process guidelines.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians while promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and process engineering.

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and process engineering.

  • Proven experience in equipment setup, operation, process tuning, optimization, qualification, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

  • Demonstrated expertise in equipment troubleshooting, process stabilization, yield enhancement, and defect reduction.

  • Solid understanding of process integration, yield improvement, and defect analysis within semiconductor manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with metrology techniques and analytical methods used for process monitoring and control.

  • Strong knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), data analysis, and root cause investigation methodologies.

  • Experience supporting technology transfer from development to high-volume manufacturing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor fab safety standards, quality management systems, documentation practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing or technology transfer environment.

  • Strong background in equipment ownership, process support, and manufacturing operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or actively contribute to cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Proven track record of improving equipment uptime, process repeatability, contamination control, process capability, and overall manufacturing performance.

  • Experience driving technical innovation, contributing to patent development, or implementing impactful manufacturing improvements.

  • Familiarity with ISO quality management systems, operational excellence methodologies, and equipment maintenance best practices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.

  • Typically 10–15 years of experience in equipment engineering, process engineering, process support, or manufacturing engineering, preferably within the semiconductor industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment.

  • Proven track record of technical ownership, effective collaboration, and successful execution of engineering and manufacturing initiatives.
