About the role:

SMITECH is seeking experienced Technical Officers to support our Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) operations across various technical functions, including Fire Protection, Building Services, M&E, ACMV, Mechanical and Electrical.

This role is suitable for hands-on facilities maintenance professionals who can coordinate daily technical operations, supervise Technicians, respond to service requests, follow up on rectification works and maintain proper maintenance documentation.

This is an IFM facilities operations role and is not a construction worker position.

This project role is to be based on site on a 5.5-day work week. Roster, shift or standby arrangements may apply depending on site deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily IFM site operations for assigned technical functions such as Fire, Building, M&E, ACMV, Mechanical or Electrical.

• Coordinate and supervise Technicians, contractors and vendors on preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and rectification works.

• Attend to breakdowns, client service requests, complaints and technical issues, and follow through until closure.

• Conduct regular site inspections on building services and M&E systems to identify defects, safety concerns and recurring faults.

• Monitor maintenance schedules, service checklists, work orders, asset records and site documentation.

• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with client requirements, site procedures, safety requirements and service standards.

• Escalate critical faults, repeated defects or operational risks to the Engineer, Supervisor, Manager or client representative where required.

• Support coordination of spare parts, materials, quotations, permits-to-work and vendor access where applicable.

• Prepare and submit daily reports, service records, maintenance updates and technical documentation.

• Guide Technicians on work priorities, safe work practices, workmanship standards and timely completion of tasks.

• Support ad-hoc facilities operations, shutdown works, inspections and emergency response activities when required.

Requirements

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Facilities Management, ACMV, Fire Protection or related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Technical Officer, Senior Technician, Facilities Technician, M&E Technician or equivalent role in facilities management, building maintenance or IFM operations.

• Experience in any of the following functions will be considered: Fire, Building, M&E, ACMV, Mechanical or Electrical.

• Good hands-on troubleshooting knowledge in facilities maintenance, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.

• Able to coordinate site works, supervise Technicians and liaise with clients, contractors, vendors and internal teams.

• Able to read basic technical drawings, manuals, maintenance schedules, checklists and service reports.

• Familiar with site safety practices, permit-to-work processes, risk controls and maintenance documentation.

• Able to work independently in a fast-paced site environment while supporting team-based operations.

• Good communication, coordination, reporting and follow-up skills.

• Willing to work on 5.5-day work week, roster, shift or standby arrangements where required.

• Candidates with Singapore facilities management, commercial building, industrial, institutional, healthcare, transport or large-site IFM experience will have an advantage.

• Relevant WSH, ACMV, electrical, fire safety or facilities-related certificates will be an advantage.
