We are looking for a skilled cook to join our kitchen team at a halal restaurant in Singapore.
Cook – Roles and Responsibilities
Be the main cook in the daily preparation and cooking of a variety of Singaporean dishes, including nasi lemak, laksa, chicken rice, lontong, roti kirai etc.
Help prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting vegetables, plating, ensuring food is of good quality before serving.
Follow proper food handling and hygiene standards at all times, ensuring that all ingredients are stored safely and work surfaces are cleaned and sanitised regularly.
Aid in the plating and garnishing of dishes to ensure presentation is consistent with restaurant standards.
Monitor and top up ingredients or sauces at preparation stations during service hours to ensure a smooth kitchen workflow.
Assist in basic cooking tasks such as frying, boiling, and reheating under the supervision of the operations manager.
Keep track of inventory levels for common ingredients and alert the cook or kitchen supervisor when stocks are running low or nearing expiry.
Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and help in maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.
Cooperate with other kitchen staff, communicate clearly, and maintain a positive and respectful working attitude.
Be flexible and ready to take on additional duties when needed, such as food packing for delivery, helping with breakfast or supper shifts, or preparing simple side dishes.
Adapt to shifts during weekends, public holidays, and festive seasons.
