Position Overview
The Cook plays a key role in supporting daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation and maintaining high hygiene standards. The ideal candidate should have basic cutting and cooking skills in both Western and Asian cuisines, be able to communicate in simple English, and demonstrate a strong work ethic, a proactive learning attitude, and a sense of responsibility. Ability to handle a wok is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hygiene Standards
Maintain a strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
Ensure the workstation and surrounding areas are kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times.
2. Food Preparation
Assist in daily food preparation tasks, including basic cutting, cooking, and plating for both Western and Asian dishes.
Support senior kitchen staff in preparing ingredients and maintaining food quality.
Handling a wok is advantageous.
3. Communication Skills
Communicate effectively with team members using basic English.
Follow instructions clearly and work cooperatively with the kitchen team.
4. Work Ethic
Take ownership of assigned duties and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Maintain punctuality, reliability, and professionalism at all times.
5. Learning Attitude
Show enthusiasm to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
Be open to feedback and strive for continuous improvement.
