Role Overview
We are seeking dynamic and committed candidates to support the Head of Department in driving excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum innovation, and student development. The successful candidate will strengthen pedagogical practices, develop teachers, and enhance students’ language proficiency and cultural appreciation in alignment with MOE priorities, school strategic thrusts, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Pedagogical Leadership
Support the design, implementation, and review of MTL curriculum across MOE and IBDP frameworks
Lead initiatives in inquiry-based learning, differentiation, and assessment for learning
Assessment & Student Development
Ensure quality and rigour of assessments across national and IBDP programmes
Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions for diverse learners
Staff Development & Professional Learning
Mentor and coach teachers in effective pedagogy, feedback, and inquiry-based approaches
Support professional learning aligned to E21CC and IBDP practices
Programme & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate department programmes (e.g., MTL Fortnight, enrichment, competitions)
Engage stakeholders to enhance cultural and global learning experiences
Departmental Support
Assist HOD in strategic planning, resource management, and operations
Contribute to school committees and IBDP-related initiatives
Requirements & Qualifications
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE or equivalent)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chinese
Competent in teaching Higher Chinese, Chinese and Basic Chinese Language at GCE O- and/or IBDP levels.
Familiarity with or willingness to be trained in IBDP curriculum and assessment
Demonstrated strength in curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogical innovation
Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Attributes

Collaborative, reflective practitioner with a growth mindset
Experience in IBDP Language courses and/or working with diverse or high-performing learners is an advantage
