About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Engineer specializing in Cyber Security to join our Cyber & SA team within the Mobility (Rail) division. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of modern rail systems by implementing advanced cyber security protocols and solutions within a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

As an Senior Engineer in Cyber Security, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of cyber security frameworks tailored to rail mobility systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to safeguard critical infrastructure against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and security of rail operations, helping ST Engineering maintain its leadership in urban mobility solutions. This position offers the chance to work at the intersection of cybersecurity and transportation technology, with exposure to state-of-the-art security tools and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain cyber security measures for rail mobility systems, including network security, endpoint protection, and encryption strategies.

• Conduct cyber risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with engineering teams during the design phase to integrate security considerations into system development lifecycles.

• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and incident response plans specific to the rail transport context.

• Participate in security audits and compliance verifications, ensuring adherence to relevant standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and rail industry cybersecurity frameworks.

• Coordinate with external vendors and stakeholders to assess and enhance security postures across systems.

• Keep abreast of emerging cyber threats and evolving security technologies applicable to critical infrastructure protection.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing and training initiatives to raise cybersecurity awareness within the organisation.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience or internships related to cyber security, preferably within industrial control systems or critical infrastructure sectors.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, protocols, and tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanning, and incident management.

• Understanding of network architectures, encryption techniques, and secure software development principles.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems and identify potential security risks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise projects to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISA are advantageous.

• Experience in rail systems, industrial control systems (ICS), or supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) cybersecurity.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards applicable to mobility and transportation sectors.

• Knowledge of secure system architecture and threat modelling.

• Experience in Cisco/ Alcatel/ Extreme/Huawei network devices will be advantageous

• Experience in Vulnerability assessment and remediation will be an advantage.

• Experience in IT Security implementation/hardening will be an advantage.

• Experience with Server installation and recovery will be an advantage
