About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Repair Development Engineer, Joining Technology to drive the development, industrialization, and deployment of advanced joining and repair technologies across a global repair network. This is a highly visible technical leadership role where you will work on critical gas turbine components, develop next-generation repair processes, and influence manufacturing excellence on a global scale.
You will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technology (AMRT) team, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and repair facilities worldwide to enhance quality, productivity, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and industrialization of advanced joining and repair technologies to support manufacturing and repair operations globally.
Design and implement innovative repair solutions to support new product introductions and component repair strategies.
Develop validation plans for repair materials and laser cladding technologies in collaboration with New Repair Introduction teams.
Drive successful technology transfer and qualification of repair service centers, ensuring compliance with repair standards and certifications.
Execute engineering projects involving process design, analysis, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical expertise in joining technologies, including welding, brazing, laser cladding, and related metallurgical processes.
Monitor project progress, communicate key developments, and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
Maintain high-quality technical documentation in accordance with engineering and business requirements.
Identify and implement productivity and process improvement opportunities across the global repair network.
Collaborate closely with component engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and global stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
What We're Looking For
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years specializing in joining technologies.
Strong expertise in:
Laser cladding processes
Superalloy welding and brazing metallurgy
Numerically Controlled (NC/CNC) machinery
Well versed in industrial gas turbine components and repair technologies.
Hands-on experience with thermal spray coatings, surface finishing, machining, sealing, and related repair processes.
Solid understanding of manufacturing and repair processes within industrial environments.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Willingness to travel approximately 10% for project support and global collaboration.
