The Role
This is a critical, full-time position for a highly skilled and technically proficient professional. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating design concepts and site requirements into highly accurate, compliant construction drawings and optimized spatial layouts. You will ensure all technical documentation and space planning meets Singapore's stringent building standards, with a heavy focus on A&A projects and custom carpentry.
Key Responsibilities
Space Planning & Optimization: Strategically plan interior layouts to maximize functionality, flow, and spatial efficiency for residential, commercial, and A&A projects.
Technical Drafting & Detailing: Produce comprehensive 2D and 3D technical drawings, including detailed floor plans, furniture layouts, elevation plans, sections, and isometric views.
Shop & Detail Drawings: Prepare all related project shop drawings and detail drawings to ensure highly accurate fabrication and seamless on-site execution.
Carpentry & Joinery Detailing: Create precise technical specifications and focused joinery drawings for bespoke carpentry solutions.
Compliance & Submission: Ensure all space plans and drawings strictly comply with local building codes, BCA submission requirements, and architectural documentation standards in Singapore.
Project Documentation: Assist in preparing and managing complete sets of architectural and construction documentation for project execution and regulatory approval.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with Interior Designers, Project Managers, Architects, and on-site construction teams to refine plans and resolve technical detailing issues.
Software & Technical Proficiency
AutoCAD (Mandatory): For 2D detailed construction and shop drawings.
SketchUp: For rapid 3D modeling and conceptualisation.
Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related technical field.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar drafting and space planning role, preferably within the architecture, Interior construction, Carpentry work or A&A industries.
Singapore-Specific Compliance: Essential prior experience in preparing architectural and interior drawings in compliance with Singapore building codes and regulatory requirements.
Design Acumen: Strong understanding of architectural and interior design principles, with a demonstrated focus on interior construction and joinery detailing.
Precision: Proven attention to detail and accuracy in creating complex technical and shop drawings.
