About the Role
As part of AWWA’s Communications team, you will shape and share the organization’s narrative, telling powerful stories of inclusion, empowerment, and impact. You will develop and execute strategic communications plans to strengthen AWWA’s reputation, engage diverse stakeholders, and build public understanding of our mission to support our clients — children, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities.
As an Integrated Communications Executive / Senior Executive, you will support the planning, coordination and execution of integrated communications campaigns and stakeholder-facing platforms across AWWA.
This role covers internal and external communications, media relations, digital and social strategy, design-led content, and brand governance. The ideal candidate must be able to translate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences (staff, partners (donors/volunteers, media and the public) and brings hands-on executional skills across media, social, design, digital analytics and events.
Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Narrative Building
Shape and articulate compelling organizational narratives that highlight AWWA’s mission, programmes, and impact.
Develop and deliver integrated communications plans aligned to organizational priorities to enhance awareness and engagement across key audiences.
Collaborate with internal teams to align content across channels and ensure message coherence.
Work with agency and vendor partners to deliver effective communication campaigns and creative materials.
Provide strategic counsel to leadership and service center teams on messaging, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
Media Relations & Reputation Management
Support with proactive media engagement strategies to build AWWA’s visibility and credibility.
Draft / support the drafting of press releases, media advisories, factsheets, FAQs and campaign toolkits.
Develop story angles and drive pitching efforts (draft pitch ideas, refine angles with agencies, tailor outreach to target outlets).
Prepare spokespeople and stakeholders for media outreach, including media lists, invitations, interview logistics and general media servicing.
Provide on-site communications and media coordination support at events and major platforms.
Monitor media trends, outlet landscapes and stakeholder sentiment; recommend suitable publications/channels and identify opportunities.
Cultivate strong relationships with journalists and media outlets across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
Liaise with media partners, agencies and stakeholders on publicity-related matters, ensuring timely follow-through.
Digital, Social Media & Content Management
Develop content for AWWA’s owned channels (social media, website) to build brand visibility and community engagement.
Integrate storytelling, data insights, and multimedia formats to drive reach and resonance across platforms.
Use analytics to track campaign performance and refine digital strategies for stronger engagement and conversion.
Develop visual communications (graphic design, templates, infographics).
Branding
Maintain brand consistency across channels and materials; review content for brand alignment before publishing.
Develop engaging, on-brand content and visual concepts to strengthen storytelling (propose visual concepts and messaging approaches).
Ensure consistent application of brand and corporate identity across all touchpoints.
Internal communications & staff engagement
Support internal communications strategy and delivery to strengthen culture, alignment and staff engagement (intranet, newsletters, townhalls, campaigns).
Support internal channels and content (newsletters, internal events) to ensure timely, consistent, and motivating communication
Develop creative internal storytelling campaigns that highlight staff contributions, organisational values, and impact stories.

Job Requirements
Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
5–9 years of relevant experience in corporate, non-profit, or public-sector communications.
Strong coordination and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines.
Proven experience in media coordination, publicity support and stakeholder engagement. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
Ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies.
A team player with empathy, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
Good command of English and one other vernacular language will be an advantage,
