Job Overview:
HomeTeamNS is seeking a commercially driven and results-oriented Business Manager to lead the growth, profitability and operations of its gyms & fitness portforlio. The role is accountable for business performance, revenue generation, customer experience and operational excellence, while ensuring the sustainable growth of the businesses.
The successful candidate must possess strong business acumen, leadership capabilities and gym operational expertise.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the overall business performance of the gyms and fitness portfolio by driving membership growth, increasing revenue, and enhancing profitability. Ensure optimal utilization and high customer satisfaction. Develop and execute comprehensive business plans, sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and member engagement initiatives to meet business targets and strengthen market position.
Manage the financial performance of business units through effective budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, while analyzing business trends. Identify opportunities to expand revenue streams, improve operational efficiency, and maximize the utilization of gym facilities, programs, and services.
Lead and manage day-to-day gym operations to ensure a safe, efficient and customer-centric environment. Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, equipment maintenance requirements, licensing obligations and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the development, delivery and performance of fitness programmes, including personal training, group fitness classes, wellness programmes and fitness events. Work closely with industry partners to ensure programmes remain relevant, commercially viable and aligned with member needs and industry trends.
Lead, coach and develop fitness professionals and frontline teams by fostering a high-performance culture through effective manpower planning, performance management, staff engagement, training and professional development.
Build and maintain strong relationships with members, corporate clients, partners, government agencies, vendors and internal stakeholders to support business growth, strategic partnerships and service excellence.
Prepare business proposals, reports, budgets and presentations for management review. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance member experience, operational effectiveness, programme quality and overall business outcomes.
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Business, Sports Management, Operations Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business management, gym operations or related industries.
• At least 3 years of experience managing teams in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Proven experience managing a P&L and being directly accountable for revenue, costs and business performance.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial reports, develop business strategies and drive revenue growth.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing operations, customer service and service delivery in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Comfortable making decisions, solving problems and driving change in a dynamic operating environment.
