About the Role

We are looking for a DB2 DBA Supporting Application professional to provide database administration and application support across the software development lifecycle. The role involves collaborating with application developers, supporting database changes, troubleshooting performance issues, and ensuring database reliability and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and optimize SQL queries written by application developers to ensure performance and compliance with database standards.

• Assist in database design activities, including table structures, indexes, and relationships.

• Troubleshoot database-related issues such as slow queries, SQL errors, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity concerns.

• Support database changes throughout the development lifecycle (DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD).

• Implement database performance tuning measures, including index management, statistics updates, and buffer pool optimization.

• Provide guidance on DB2 best practices, coding standards, and efficient query-writing techniques.

• Support application testing activities through data refreshes, test data preparation, and database validation.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

• Strong knowledge of DB2 administration and SQL.

• Experience with database utilities and tools.

• Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures.

• Understanding of mainframe concepts, including JCL and VSAM, is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work beyond regular business hours and weekends when required.
