Our client is a renowned and global MNC based in town. It offers good perks and an attractive var bonus for good performers. The MNC is now looking to hire an experienced regional tax manager.

For this role, you are based in Singapore, covering tax work for the Asia-Pacific region. You will report directly to the Regional Head of Tax - Asia Pacific (based in Singapore).

Key job responsibilities:

• Drive the group’s tax agenda/vision in the region.

• Explore and implement opportunities for optimising the group’s tax profile in the region, through tax planning and engagement with tax authorities.

• Manage the tax aspects of M&A projects in the region, including devising and implementing tax efficient acquisition/divestment structures.

• Handle tax audits and manage tax disputes.

• Manage the group’s relationship with tax authorities (e.g. IRAS), external advisors and fellow peers in the industry.

• Monitor tax developments in the region and identifying material risks/exposures to internal stakeholders.

• Prepare regular tax accruals and other tax-related internal financial reports.

• Ensure timely compliance with the group’s direct and indirect tax reporting obligations in the region.

• Drive digitalisation of the group’s compliance tax obligations in Singapore and the wider region.

• Assist with the implementation of BEPS P2-related compliance and processes for the APAC region

Requirements:

• Degree qualified. At least 12+ years’ experience in Singapore and international tax gained with established MNCs.

• Has exposure to both tax advisory and tax compliance matters

• Experience working with IRAS and other tax authorities.

• Strong communicator (both verbal and written).

• Confident and commercially minded self-starter. Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work well in a global environment (interacting with locals and international colleagues)

• Open to assuming additional responsibilities where possible.

• Detail-oriented. Hands-on and able to roll up his/her sleeves.

• Able to travel internationally at short notice (though this is not frequent).
