About the Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced NPI Engineer to support product transfer / new product introduction and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on ensuring products are designed for manufacturability, and can be produced efficiently, on time, and within budget.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust manufacturing processes, support production, and implement automation and lean improvements.
Responsibilities:
Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM), DFA & DFT reviews for product transfer and new products
Develop and implement end-to-end manufacturing processes, including workflows, work instructions, and tooling
Manage BOM accuracy and coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
Plan and execute prototype and pilot builds to validate product and process readiness
Conduct PFMEA and mitigate manufacturing risks
Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product launch
Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and productivity initiatives
Design and implement fixtures, automation solutions, and process improvements
Support plant layout optimisation, capital projects, and global initiatives
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and documentation
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience (assembly, machining, power electronics or high-voltage design preferred)
Proven experience in NPI, product transfer and process improvement
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and Kaizen or Six Sigma practices
Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an advantage
Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and any ERP system
Willingness to travel to Malaysia to support NPI projects as and when required
