INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL ENGINEER - #1160396

Responsibilities:

• Providing technical support and advice to the tendering team during tendering process.

• Preparation of all the elements of Basic design, Front End Engineering Design and detailed design of the C&I system from inception to completion including installation, testing and commissioning for the specific projects;

• Analysis and design of cost effective C&I system involving the preparation of C&I material requisitions, specifications & datasheet for instruments, valves, cables, process control system (PLC, DCS, SCADA); architecture, schematics, block diagram, grounding and earthing drawings; instrumentation cable schedule, IOs list and instrumentation list; cause and effect diagrams; C&I installation details, layouts, wiring details etc. in accordance to customer specifications, applicable codes, standards and other generally accepted practices.

• Coordination with customer, civil contractor, architectures and other M&E contractors for resolving interface issues and technical clarifications.

• Preparation of design briefs, technical reports and authorities submission documents.

• Preparation of technical enquiry for C&I subcontract requisition.

• Technical vetting of supplier’s/ subcontractor’s offers/bid documents to ensure specifications, datasheet and projects requirements are met.

• Providing construction drawings, testing and commissioning plans and support during project execution.

• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings with customers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.

• Lead the team for installation, testing and commissioning at site.

• Participate in tender clarification meetings.

• Prepare the technical inquiry for process control system (PLC, DCS, and SCADA), technical evaluation of system provider’s proposal, and coordination with process control vendor for design approval, installation, testing and commissioning.

• Responsible for ensuring to remain familiar with current practices and engineering trends within the industry and to remain technically competent

• Familiar with instrumentation design, installation, testing and commissioning.

• Knowledge in Cabling works, materials picking BOQ,

• Knowledge in PLC/SCADA system and simple programming.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years of working experience as a system engineer, at least 3 years in engineering consulting firm in water, power, Chemical, Oil & Gas sectors.

• Through hands on experience in designing, installation, testing and commissioning of control and Instrumentation system.

• The candidate shall be familiar with the relevant Code of Practices, Industrial good practices and applicable subsidiary legislations, etc;

• Able to work as a team leader/team player, assertive, independent and proactive

• Possesses critical analytical skills and is adept at utilizing good decision making tool; high level of data analysis skills.

• Possesses business acumen skills

• Sound knowledge of variety of process control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA), Safety/Interlock Charts, Cause & Effect Charts
