Job Purpose
Responsible for product design and development of IoT products.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop hardware for Commercial Grade IoT products used in smart buildings, smart lighting, smart office, smart living, smart metering, smart Agriculture/Aquaculture and HVAC systems.
Work with wired interfaces such as Modbus, LDSBus, RS485, DALI, DIO/AIO, Relay control, and IR blaster, etc.
Develop products using wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and LoRa/LoRaWAN, etc.
Perform Concept Study, Product specification definition, Architectural block diagram, Schematic design, PCB layout, BOM and Cost analysis, Prototype build, and hardware debugging.
Perform Design Validation Test, including Board bring-up, Electrical testing, Functional test, Performance test, Environmental test, etc.
Support regulatory certifications (CE/FCC, UL, RoHS, etc.).
Support production test, DFM, DFT and transfer to mass production.
Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, system test and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Additional Responsibilities
Any reasonable task assigned by management and deemed to be within the individuals’ capabilities to ensure smooth running of the business.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in hardware design and development (IoT or embedded systems preferred).
Strong knowledge of analog and high-speed digital circuit design.
RF circuit design and impedance matching experience is a plus.
Experience with MCU-based embedded systems and power supply design (AC-DC, DC-DC, PoE, Battery, Solar cells).
Experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, LoRa).
Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout with design tools (e.g. Altium, or equivalent).
Knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, DALI, RS485).
Knowledge in connectivity technology such as USB, UART, SPI, I2C.
Knowledge of memory systems such as SRAM/DRAM and storage memory such as NAND/Flash and EEPROM is required.
Knowledge of Application Processor based motherboard design is a plus.
Knowledge in EMC, ESD, Safety, and reliability tests.
Experience in relay circuit design and/or PLC systems is a plus.
Knowledge in mechanical enclosure development process is a plus.
Working Conditions
Office and laboratory-based work environment.
Occasional support for factory production or field testing when required.
