Position Summary:
Application Engineer with a strong laboratory focus, supporting application testing, lab project execution, and laboratory best practices, with customer-facing activities as needed based on business requirements. The role is designed to develop into broader customer-facing application engineering responsibilities over time as business needs evolve.
Responsibilities:
Ø Manage laboratory testing projects and job execution.
Ø Support laboratory best practices, processes, and workflows.
Ø Assist with lab equipment operation, maintenance, and calibration.
Ø Identify laboratory capability gaps and improvement opportunities. Develop new test methods as required.
Ø Enter project and customer activity information into CRM systems in a timely manner.
Ø Provide application recommendations and troubleshooting support to customers, sales engineers, and partners, including conference or on-site support as required.
Ø Able to prepare and deliver convincing presentations (using PowerPoint and EXCEL) to customers and co-workers.
Ø Provide technical service training for sales channel partners and customers.
Ø Maintain expertise in assigned technical and market fields, inclusive of competitive technologies and products.
Ø Work safely and wears personal protective equipment in required areas.
Ø Customer visits and regional travel may be required as needed, depending on business priorities and project requirements, including selected projects, seminars, roadshows, and exhibitions.
Ø Other Duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
Ø Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials) preferred; Chemistry background considered.
Ø Early-career application engineer with strong laboratory fundamentals. 1–3 years of relevant laboratory, engineering, or application support experience preferred.
Ø Core Technical & Laboratory Skills with Hands-On experience in laboratory testing, evaluation, and technical analysis.
Ø Application Engineering capabilities to support new application testing, process optimization, and internal AE lab projects for sales and customers.
Ø Technical Service and Troubleshooting skills with the ability to support and assess technical test results performance.
Ø Personal and Behavioral Competencies with strong attention to detail, a structured and methodical work approach, ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, and commitment to laboratory safety and procedures.
Ø Knowledge of Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
Ø Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage
Ø Knowledge of UV adhesives, curing systems, and dispensing systems is a plus; training will be provided.
Ø Exposure to statistical analysis, data-driven problem solving, or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
