Job Scope:

• Receive and check laboratory specimens, rejecting those that do not meet testing requirements.

• Prepare reagents and materials that need special handling to ensure accurate test results.

• Use the Laboratory Information System for order entry, result review, and documentation.

• Perform moderate-complexity laboratory tests according to established procedures.

• Report critical test results immediately to the appropriate personnel.

• Inform senior staff of any incidents or issues requiring follow-up.

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment and report any malfunctions.

• Keep up to date with laboratory practices, techniques, and equipment through training and workshops.

• Demonstrate laboratory procedures to new staff and trainees.

• Provide guidance to Laboratory Technicians, clerical staff, and health attendants when needed.

• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, or an equivalent qualification.

• Prior healthcare experience is an added advantage.

• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting will be preferred.

• Strong team player with attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset.
