The senior adaptive trainer is responsible for designing and implementing fitness programs tailored to individuals with disabilities and chronic conditions. This role involves creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment that encourages clients to achieve their physical fitness and functional goals.
The senior adaptive trainer is also responsible for mentorship of the team, and handling more complex responsibilities apart from just implementing the services.
You will:
Assess clients’ fitness levels, physical abilities and limitations through consultations and evaluations.
Design and implement customised programs focused on improving strength, cardiovascular fitness and endurance, mobility and overall health.
Adapt exercises and equipment usage to accommodate clients’ needs (including physical, sensory or cognitive challenges).
Work closely with healthcare professionals, clients and caregivers to align fitness programs with therapeutic plans.
Provide 1:1 or 1:group training sessions while ensuring a safe and motivating environment.
Educate clients about proper techniques, postures and movement to prevent injury.
Monitor progress, adjust fitness programs as needed to meet evolving goals.
Implement safety protocols and respond promptly to emergencies.
Stay updated on best practices for adaptive training to minimize risk and maximise client outcomes.
Documentation of clients’ sessions and progress
You Are:
Someone who has a Diploma / Degree in Sports or Exercise Science or related field
Recognised fitness certification would be an advantage
Able to converse in English and other languages due to the diverse profiles of our clients
Someone with minimally 2 years of relevant experience as a fitness trainer, therapy associate or similar role
Someone who is able to work on weekends (i.e Saturday)
Someone who is able to work in a team and independently
