Job Summary

The role involves providing comprehensive technical support and maintenance for operating systems, middleware, databases, LDAP, and container orchestration platforms. The candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing these systems to ensure smooth operations in development and testing environments. In addition to hands-on technical tasks, the role requires supporting bid activities by producing infrastructure sizing and deployment topology, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and leading infrastructure-related discussions to enable effective planning and deployment at the customer site.

Key Roles and Responsibilities  

• Provide support and maintenance for operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and IBM AIX, Solaris.

• Deploy, configure and maintain middleware infrastructure, including IBM WebSphere, IBM MQ, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, and Red Hat JBoss A-MQ.

• Install, configure, and manage database servers, including IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL.

• Install, configure, and maintain LDAP servers, including IBM Security Directory Server and Apache LDAP.

• Install, configure, and maintain container orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters.

• Handle technical matters such as troubleshooting, patching, and upgrading systems, both operating systems and middleware.

• In addition to hands-on technical responsibilities, support bid activities by providing infrastructure sizing, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, and leading end-to-end technical discussions related to infrastructure planning and deployment.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years of IT experience.

• Ideally, exposure to both operating system and middleware administration.

• Solid understanding of application architecture, covering authentication, web server, database servers, application servers, and messaging servers.

• Proficient in Unix Shell scripting.

• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

• Eagerness to explore legacy systems and embrace new cloud platform services, along with a positive attitude to join the team on this journey.

• Possession of any cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or Red Hat) will be advantageous.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
