ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are hiring a Viral Shorts Specialist– someone obsessed with finding what works on social media and making it work for us. You will work directly with Creative Eateries’ co-owner and Chief Marketing Officer, Andie Chen - to develop our content strategy with a focus on short-form and viral content. Your main job is to study outperforming content across platforms, copy the winning formats, and apply them to Creative Eateries' brands. You will also take our raw footage from our long form content and turn it into short-form content designed to grab attention in the first three seconds.
This role offers a unique synergy of execution and planning, where you will spend portion of your time performing onsite content shooting (40%), editing and repurposing (40%), and collaborative strategic discussions (20%).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scan social media platforms such as TikTok/IG/YouTube/XiaoHongShu daily for outperforming content, especially in food, F&B, and founder/creative niches.
- Reverse engineer winning videos (hook, structure, captions, audio, pacing, framing).
- Create 10–15 "copied" original shorts per week using those formats for Creative Eateries brands (e.g. Suki-Ya, Bangkok Jam).
- Cut 10–15 shorts per week from our raw footage (interviews, meetings, food, behind-the-scenes), with strong hooks in the first 3 seconds.
- Add captions, text overlays, basic graphics, and trending audio suited to each platform.
- Run simple A/B tests on hooks, titles, and thumbnails for key videos.
- Track performance (views, watch time, shares, saves, comments) and prepare a simple weekly report.
- Suggest 3 concrete content ideas/formats each week based on what is performing.
- Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer to develop overall content strategy for short-form and viral growth.
REQUIREMENTS
- Portfolio with at least 5 short-form videos created by you, including at least 3 where you clearly adapted a trend/format from another creator.
- At least 3 pieces in your portfolio with 10K+ views each (include links and metrics).
- Strong experience editing vertical video (CapCut, DaVinci, or similar).
- Able to turn 10–15 quality shorts from 30–45 minutes of raw footage within 48 hours.
- Active user of TikTok/IG Reels/YouTube Shorts (you understand trends and sounds, not just theory).
- Comfortable reading basic analytics (view count, watch time, retention, CTR, shares) and turning them into simple action points.
- English fluent.
- Preferably to have experience with food/F&B, founder, or creative/artist content.
- Experience adapting TikTok content for XiaoHongShu or other Asia-focused platforms.
- Basic design sense for thumbnails and text placement.
- May be required to work on weekends for shoots, off-in-lieu will be given
