Production Planner - #1132374
NTS Components Singapore Pte Ltd
Responsibilities:
1. Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
Build, maintain, and own the weekly and monthly Master Production Schedule for all assigned product families (HMHV + HMLV)
Translate customer demand, forecasts, and firm orders into capacity-feasible production plans
Ensure alignment of MPS with available capacity, tooling, lead times, and material readiness
Work closely with Sales/Engineering to validate demand and manage changes through a controlled change process
2. Detailed Scheduling & Shop Floor Coordination
Issue daily/weekly finite schedules to production based on constraints (labour, machines, routings, yield)
Sequence jobs to minimise set-up times, bottlenecks, idle hours, and changeover losses
Coordinate with supervisors to adjust schedules for real-time issues (machine breakdowns, manpower shortages, rework)
Track WIP status and ensure accurate feedback loops into Navision
3. Material Readiness & Buyer Collaboration
Work hand-in-hand with the Material Planner/Buyers to ensure:
Zero material shortages affecting the daily schedule
Clear visibility on open POs, supplier promises, delays, and expedite needs
Run daily shortage reviews and escalate risks with recommended actions
Ensure MRs are linked to demand, cancelling redundant MRs and avoiding over-buying
4. Capacity Planning & Load Analysis
Conduct weekly and monthly capacity vs load analysis for each work center
Identify bottlenecks early and propose countermeasures: overtime, subcontracting, splitting jobs, resequencing
Maintain routings and standard cycle times in Navision to improve planning accuracy
5. Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Support
Provide planning inputs for S&OP cycles:
Forecast accuracy
Capacity constraints
Inventory projections
Build-ahead / de-risking opportunities
Translate S&OP decisions into executable production plans
6. Inventory, WIP & FG Control
Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer service levels while minimising excess
Partner with warehouse to track WIP ageing, slow-moving FG, and component shortages
Ensure cycle counts and inventory accuracy support planning reliability
7. Planning Master Data Governance
Maintain correct BOMs, routings, cycle times, lead times, and production parameters in Navision
Drive data cleanliness so planning outputs are trustworthy and repeatable
Raise change requests when engineering or manufacturing processes change
8. Performance Analytics
Own and improve planning KPIs:
OTIF (On-Time In-Full)
Schedule Adherence
Production Attainment
WIP Turns
MAPE (forecast accuracy)
Material Shortages
Expedite Ratios
Planner Efficiency metrics
Generate dashboards and insights to drive continuous improvement
9. Continuous Improvement & Lean Execution
Apply Lean tools (VSM, Heijunka, SMED, Kanban) to stabilise and improve planning flow
Participate in cross-functional problem-solving to address bottlenecks and chronic issues
Standardise planning processes and documentation across product lines
Requirements:
3–7 years experience in HMHV or HMLV manufacturing (precision engineering, mechatronics, electronics, machining, or assembly preferred)
Strong mastery of finite scheduling, production control, and constraint management
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Navision experience a strong advantage)
Able to balance short-term firefighting with long-term structural improvements
Analytical, structured thinker with clear communication across functions
Able to influence supervisors, PMO, buyers, and engineers to follow the plan
