Summary of Role
The Account Manager (SME Partners) plays a pivotal role in advancing NTUC’s mission of job security and inclusive workforce transformation for SME workers. The officer serves as a trusted advisor to assigned SME accounts — helping companies navigate enterprise and workforce transformation initiatives, while deepening NTUC’s reach and value to SME employers and employees.
This role is central to SME Partners’ position as the bridge between tripartite partners, enterprises, and the Labour Movement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management & Partnership Building
Manage a portfolio of assigned accounts, with emphasis on deep engagement with the accounts to improve workers’ welfare and work prospects.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for SME employers — understanding their business challenges, workforce needs, and transformation priorities.
Curate and recommend relevant programmes (e.g. CTC grants, job redesign, training, and tech adoption) in collaboration with NTUC Jobs Council and other units within NTUC, as well as with external stakeholders such as TACs and tripartite partners.
2. Transformation & Workforce Advisory
Guide SMEs through transformation roadmaps that align enterprise growth with job redesign and worker upskilling.
Coordinate across NTUC units to deliver integrated enterprise–workforce solutions.
Support companies in implementing structured workplace transformation projects, including training plans, HR systems, and job progression pathways.
3. Worker Outreach & Membership Conversion
Develop a systematic approach to engage SME workers within assigned companies.
Promote union membership and access to NTUC benefits as part of the value proposition for SME workforce transformation.
Identify SME Workplace Advocates and facilitate linkages to union branches or SME representative networks.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education & Experience:
Degree in Business, Human Resource, or related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in account management, business development, or workforce transformation.
Experience in engaging SMEs, TACs, or government-linked programmes is advantageous.
Core Competencies:
Strong consultative and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to connect enterprise issues with workforce solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Data-driven mindset; able to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
