The Role
We are seeking for a detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join our finance team on a 6 months contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing full set of accounts, supporting the Finance Manager in daily General Ledger (GL) operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role involves maintaining and reconciling GL accounts, processing journal entries, and assisting with financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full Set of Accounts: Manage and maintain the full set of accounts, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Monthly Journals: Prepare and record monthly journal entries with precision.
- Month-End Closing: Execute month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss accounts and Balance Sheets.
- Financial Reports: Compile monthly reports to provide financial insights for business decision-making.
- Gross Margin Analysis: Review and verify the Gross Margin for various projects to ensure accuracy.
- Payroll Reports: Review and validate associates' payroll reports for correctness.
- GST Reconciliation: Prepare monthly GST reconciliations and manage the submission of quarterly GST returns.
- Audit & Tax Schedules: Develop and maintain schedules for monthly audits and tax purposes.
- Corporate Reports: Prepare and deliver monthly corporate reports as required.
- Tax Assistance: Support with tax-related queries and documentation.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Government Requests: Handle requests for government statistics and data.
- Project Assistance: Contribute to various projects as needed, providing financial insights and support.
Requirements:
- A Degree in Accountancy or professional qualification such as ACCA (or equivalent)
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to full set accounts
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficient in general accounting systems and ERP software
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to meeting deadlines
- A positive attitude, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
