Job Description:
- Assist M&E Engineer, Superintending Officer Representation (SO Rep) and Resident Engineer (RE) in the supervision and quality assurance of construction works on site.
- Provide standing supervision as and when required by the M&E Engineer, SO Rep and RE.
- To ensure all installation methods and material used are in accordance with the approved shop drawings and material specifications.
- Liaise with the Contractors / sub-contractors and other Resident Technical Officers (RTO) in the coordination of site works, resolve site M&E issues, and monitor site progress.
- To inspect the site daily and record / highlight discrepancies, non-compliance works and issue site memo to contractor and monitor the rectification works and closure of the site memos and filing and management of the site memo records.
- Feedback site progress and irregularities to M&E Engineer, SO Rep and RE.
- Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning.
- To prepare daily and weekly reports and submit to the Superintending Officer (SO)/SO reps/RE weekly.
- To check and verify monthly work progress and progress payment submitted by the contractor within the stipulated monthly time frame of progress claim/payment cycle with details of substantiation.
- To check as-built drawings to tally with site installation.
- Ensure the contractors maintain work safety, cleanliness, and tidiness of the site.
- Documentation of site records, i.e. Inspection records, T&C records, site meetings etc.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical or Building Services Engineering from local Polytechnic or other tertiary institutions of equivalent standing.
- Minimum five (5) years of M&E work experience as a Resident Technical Officer.
- Registered with IES/ACES as a Resident Technical Officer for the past five (5) years is preferred.
- Conversant in local construction practices, air-conditioning, electrical, fire protection, plumbing and sanitary services.
- Good co-ordination skills.
- Good analytical ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and team player.
- Past work experience in healthcare/residential/institutional projects is preferred.
- The successful candidate is expected to commence employment in March/April 2026
