Job Description Summary
We are looking for a reliable Maintenance System Engineer to support system operations and maintenance on a 24/7 standby basis. The role involves site coordination, client support, and ensuring smooth system functionality. Candidates should have technical experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read technical drawings.
Key Job Accountabilities
Perform hands-on installation, preventive and corrective maintenance of end devices (e.g. readers) and central equipment.
Hands -on troubleshooting and replacement of faulty electronic components and system parts.
Attend to client service requests (CM/PM), ensuring timely response and system uptime.
Provide on-site support to clients when systems are unavailable, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Prepare quotations for ad-hoc service requests and Variation Orders (VO), and execute A&A/VO works as required.
Read and interpret construction drawings (architectural layouts, combined services, penetration requirements, electrical and security line drawings).
Plan and design cable routing, prepare shop drawings, and update as-built documentation (optional).
Coordinate with consultants, users, and contractors on site and installation matters.
Conduct testing and commissioning with relevant stakeholders.
Perform system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation (under Senior Engineer guidance).
Provide regular client updates on maintenance status and escalate issues where necessary.
Manage subcontractors’ schedules and quality of work.
Support contract administration tasks, including reporting, procurement, billing milestones, O&M/manual submissions, and maintenance checklists.
Ensure compliance with industrial codes, standards, and workplace safety requirements (e.g. CP Standard, WSH, Work-at-Height).
Apply technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.
Maintain good customer relationship management and ensure high service standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum ITE/Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Infocom, Computer Science
Hands-on experience in cable routing design and drawing updates.
Preferably with more than 2 years’ experience in relevant system implementation, maintenance, or related technical roles.
Proficiency in operating, upgrading, and maintaining Windows Server and Linux systems.
Strong end-to-end understanding of the software lifecycle, including deployment, operation, and maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting and fault analysis skills in system and network maintenance.
Familiarity with site installation methodologies, project cycles, and preventive maintenance processes.
Good communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) is advantageous.
Customer-focused, with ability to manage expectations and provide professional support.
Familiar with security system integration, site safety practices, and industrial codes of practice.
