The Equipment Director is Summary
The Equipment Director is responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize equipment performance, productivity, and cost efficiency across the organization.
This role will lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and alignment with company goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement enterprise-wide strategies to enhance equipment performance, maximize output, and minimize operational costs.
Lead operational decision-making to ensure effective achievement of production and performance objectives.
Own and drive key equipment performance metrics, including uptime, OEE, OPE, MTTR, and related KPIs.
Drive productivity and cost improvements through optimization of UPH, uptime, automation, and process simplification.
Monitor, analyze, and report daily operational performance to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and alignment with targets.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to resolve equipment-related yield and quality issues.
Coach and mentor managers to improve yield, quality, and overall productivity.
Support manufacturing objectives, NPI (New Product Introduction), engineering activities, and quality performance initiatives.
Lead material and consumable cost-reduction programs through value engineering and process improvement initiatives.
Ensure continuous improvement in yield, quality, and productivity by planning, evaluating, and executing process enhancements that meet customer and company standards.
Conduct daily equipment performance reviews and coordinate with manufacturing teams to sustain optimal production performance.
Analyze current operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Ensure department and company goals are consistently achieved through effective leadership and collaboration.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and support functions, to drive operational success.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).
Minimum of 15 years of experience in wafer fabrication equipment management.
At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Proven expertise in equipment performance optimization, yield improvement, and cost management.
Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
