Our Client, the world’s largest geotechnical specialist contractor, is inviting qualified candidates to fill the position as Quantity Surveyor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Pre-Contract & Tendering
Review ITT, drawings, specifications, geotechnical data, and contract conditions to identify pricing and commercial risks.
Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost plans covering labour, plant, materials, prelims, overheads, and profit.
Develop pricing models, risk registers, clarifications, and alternative proposals with quantified cost/time impacts.
Support bid reviews and secure internal approvals for price and terms.
2) Procurement & Subcontractor Management
Prepare and negotiate RFQs, bid comparisons, LOIs, and subcontracts with defined scope, milestones, and payment terms.
Ensure flow-down of contract obligations, warranties, and insurances.
Manage subcontractor performance, variations, and procurement schedules.
3) Contract Administration
Interpret and administer contract conditions (PSSCOC, SIA, FIDIC, or bespoke).
Support change management, claims, and contractual correspondence.
4) Progress Measurement & Payments
Agree on measurement rules with clients/engineers.
Prepare monthly valuations and payment applications with supporting documentation.
Certify subcontractor claims, including retentions, set-offs, and contra-charges.
5) Project Execution & Site Management
Plan and oversee daily site activities, ensuring safe, timely, and quality delivery.
Supervise site crews and subcontractors, maintaining productivity, safety, and accountability.
Apply geotechnical risk management to identify and mitigate site challenges.
6) Cost & Resource Optimization
Drive value engineering and efficient resource planning.
Monitor procurement alignment and minimize scrap/waste.
7) Governance, HSEQ & Reporting
Ensure compliance with company approval matrices, audit requirements, and statutory obligations.
Support insurance notifications, guarantees, and securities.
Maintain progress reports, QA/QC records, claims, and risk assessments.
Uphold strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
This role will be required to spend most of the time on construction sites and candidates must be comfortable working outdoors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or its equivalent
At least 3-5 year of relevant working experience
Strong command of measurement rules and common contract forms; working knowledge of PSSCOC/SIA/FIDIC advantageous.
