Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Assistant Manager or Manager to lead and support business growth in the Institutional Catering segment (e.g. factories, schools, hospitals, and government agencies). The ideal candidate should possess strong commercial acumen, a deep understanding of the catering or foodservice market structure, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Development & Market Expansion
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the institutional catering sector (B2B).
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term collaboration.
Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
Prepare and present business proposals, quotations, and tenders to potential clients.
Collaborate with internal teams (operations, culinary, procurement, and finance) to develop competitive and sustainable business solutions.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute business plans to achieve sales targets and market share growth.
Evaluate pricing strategies, costing models, and profitability of new and existing contracts.
Monitor contract performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
Support the negotiation and renewal of long-term catering contracts.
Market Intelligence & Analysis
Gather market intelligence on institutional catering trends, pricing structures, and customer expectations.
Provide insights to management for decision-making on product positioning, service offerings, and expansion plans.
Benchmark industry practices and recommend improvements to enhance competitiveness.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field.
Minimum 3–7 years of experience in business development, commercial management in institutional catering/foodservice.
Strong understanding of institutional catering market structure, tender processes, and client requirements.
Proven ability to drive business growth and manage key accounts effectively.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Analytical mindset with good financial and commercial sense.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
Possess own transport and willing to travel for client meetings or site visits.
