Category Manager (Pricing & inventory) - Clementi (Food related industry) - #1117700

The purpose of this role is to drive the growth and profitability of assigned product categories by developing and executing effective category strategies, managing product assortment and inventory, and fostering strong vendor partnerships.

This role leverages market and sales data to optimize pricing, promotions, and inventory, while collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure products meet market demand, quality standards, and customer needs.

Job Scope:

Category Strategy Development and Execution

• Manage category margins, budgets, forecasting and product assortment to optimize category performance.

• Analyse sales data, market trends and consumer insights to identify patterns and spot opportunities for category growth

• Develop pricing strategies based on market conditions and product performance

• Collaborate with sales channels to create promotional plans and campaigns for the category and coordinate with marketing for execution

• Coordinate training for sales channels to facilitate understanding of products to properly meet customer needs.

Product Management

• Partner sales channels and procurement team to forecast demand and collaborate with vendors to ensure product availability.

• Monitor stock levels, fluctuations in demand and ensure proper inventory management.

• Identify slob and collaborate with sales channels to manage slob reduction

• Maintain product database to facilitate sales and logistics

Vendor Relationships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional activities with suppliers.

• Ensure that new products meet quality standards and are delivered in accordance to internal guidelines.

Requirement:
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in similar role

• Strong analytical skills and ability to draw actionable insights from complex data sets.

• Demonstrated success in leveraging market insights to drive product strategies.

• Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Proficiency in relevant software and data analysis tools.

• Ability to develop and implement category strategies.
