What you'll do:
As a Trading Markets and Strategy Specialist based in Singapore, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that shape the direction of international trade activities across Southeast Asia and South Asia.
- Synthesize complex regional business intelligence into clear, insight-driven presentations tailored for senior management and global stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Establish and maintain a centralised dashboard tracking brand health and business performance metrics for each market, ensuring data is updated regularly for accurate reporting.
- Coordinate timely and precise reporting of regional performance metrics to global custodians, aligning all outputs with overarching strategic priorities.
- Develop comprehensive export collateral such as product brochures, bulletins, and commercial packs that empower outbound trade from regional manufacturing hubs.
- Conduct detailed pricing and financial analyses using cost structures, margin targets, and competitive benchmarks to inform robust export strategies.
- Identify new distribution partners across priority markets by engaging in thorough evaluation processes that support commercial negotiations and effective onboarding.
- Assess sourcing viability across various manufacturing plants by factoring in free trade agreements, duty structures, and logistical efficiencies to optimise export flows.
- Collaborate extensively with supply chain, finance, marketing, and regulatory teams to drive cohesive regional outcomes that align with organisational goals.
- Support executive-level stakeholder engagement through well-prepared reports and direct interaction with C-suite leadership to ensure alignment on key initiatives.
What you bring:
To excel as a Trading Markets and Strategy Specialist, your background should reflect substantial experience within the FMCG sector, particularly in roles focused on business development or commercial planning involving cross-border activities.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in business development, export strategy or commercial planning within the fast-moving consumer goods sector is required for this role.
- Demonstrated success in cross-border sales and market development activities across Southeast Asia and South Asia is highly valued.
- A strong foundation in finance combined with advanced commercial analytics skills enables you to translate cost structures into effective pricing strategies.
- Proven experience preparing executive-level reports and engaging directly with C-suite leadership ensures your recommendations are both credible and actionable.
- Expertise in collaborating across supply chain, finance, marketing, and regulatory functions allows you to drive integrated solutions for regional challenges.
- Deep understanding of multi-market dynamics-including cultural nuances-enables you to tailor approaches effectively for different countries within the region.
- A high level of business acumen paired with functional agility supports your ability to adapt quickly within changing environments while maintaining focus on execution.
- Hands-on experience working with manufacturing plants as well as navigating complex export logistics is essential for optimising operational flows.
