We are seeking a skilled person with broad experience to lead a small team (under five) in building a new payroll system from scratch. You will oversee the full product lifecycle — from planning and development to launch, marketing, client acquisition and ensuring profitability. Need to work independently without external funding to create a sustainable and self-sufficient business.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and lead the development of a modern payroll system tailored to client needs — including compliance, automation, and intuitive UI/UX.
• Build and lead a lean development team
• Define the product roadmap based on user needs, market trends, and compliance standards.
• Oversee marketing strategy, pricing, branding, and customer acquisition.
• Drive profitability and ensure sustainability without relying on external investment.
• Interface with potential users to understand pain points and translate them into system features.
Requirements
• Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree or higher; preference for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
• Prior experience building or managing a SaaS product.
• Proven experience in software development (preferably in payroll, HR, or fintech platforms).
• Strong leadership in managing cross-functional teams and launching digital products.
• Understanding of payroll regulations, compliance, and operational workflows (e.g., CPF, IRAS submissions for Singapore if local).
• Ability to work independently and drive a product from zero to launch.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on execution skills.
