Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver practical Food Technology laboratory sessions, practice modules, and applied learning activities.
Mentor and coach students on Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
Lead and execute innovation or applied research projects with industry partners.
Manage and optimize laboratory facilities, pilot plant equipment, and resources to support teaching and research.
Uphold laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Support strategic initiatives of the Professional Officers Division, including leadership or coordinator duties.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of industry experience in food product development, innovation, R&D, process scale-up, or regulatory compliance.
Track record of successful industry collaborations and commercialization of food products preferred.
Expertise in at least two food science domains (e.g., food chemistry, microbiology, processing, sensory science, food engineering).
Strong hands-on experience in lab or pilot plant operations, technical training, or applied research.
Knowledge of analytical techniques (chromatography, spectroscopy, rheology, texture analysis, sensory profiling).
Certification in food safety or quality management is advantageous.
