The NPI Engineer is responsible for translating customer technical drawings and specifications into robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth transition from customer requirements to production readiness in a precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
Develop and document end-to-end manufacturing processes, including process flow, work instructions, tooling, and inspection plans.
Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews to ensure product designs are optimized for efficient and cost-effective production.
Lead PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) activities to identify and mitigate potential process risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Procurement) to ensure manufacturability and compliance with customer expectations.
Lead process validation and first article builds to ensure readiness for mass production.
Identify and resolve manufacturability issues early in the product lifecycle.
Ensure all documentation (e.g., BOMs, routers, Work Instructions) is accurate and aligned with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with suppliers for tooling and material readiness as required.
Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100).
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in NPI or manufacturing engineering, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, SolidCAM, MasterCAM, Unigraphics).
Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation practices.
Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
Familiarity with CNC machining, deburring, and cleanroom processes.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and process control.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.

Working Hours : 8.15am to 5.30pm (Mon-Fri)
Location : Changi North
