What you'll do:

As a Senior Accountant based in Singapore on a six-month contract basis-with the potential for permanency-you will play an integral role within the finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, your day-to-day responsibilities will span financial analysis, forecasting, corporate finance management at both fund and entity levels, as well as hands-on involvement in statutory reporting.

  • Assist with the preparation and review of statutory, monthly, and quarterly fund-level financial reporting as well as investor reporting in accordance with accounting standards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at all times.
  • Support both external and internal audit processes by liaising with auditors and preparing or reviewing audited financial statements to meet compliance requirements.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards, implementing necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance within the finance function.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and reforecasting processes by preparing budget files, conducting detailed analysis, and supporting the overall planning cycle.
  • Prepare comprehensive analyses comparing monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets against actual results to provide valuable insights for business decision-making.
  • Review annual tax computations and filings for various entities while assisting in group-wide tax filing exercises to ensure prompt statutory compliance.
  • Work closely with tax agents to manage tax matters effectively, addressing exposures proactively and ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
  • Assist with cash management activities including bank account administration, monitoring cash flow positions, and supporting effective cash planning initiatives.
  • Support corporate secretarial matters by liaising with agents on board resolutions and annual return filings to maintain regulatory compliance across entities.
  • Contribute to updating finance policies and procedures while monitoring adherence throughout the organisation; assist in implementing new systems or projects as needed.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Accountant in this contract position based in Singapore, you will bring substantial experience gained from at least ten years working within complex finance environments-ideally including exposure to private equity or real estate investment settings.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline is preferred; professional accounting certification such as CPA or ACCA (or equivalent) is essential for this position.
  • At least ten years of relevant accounting experience is required; prior exposure within private equity or real estate sectors will be considered advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in both spoken and written English is necessary; proficiency in Mandarin is also required for effective liaison with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and Word are expected; familiarity with Yardi accounting software would be beneficial though not mandatory.
  • Proven track record of managing statutory financial reporting cycles accurately under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail throughout complex processes.
  • Experience supporting audit engagements-including preparation of audited financial statements-and responding constructively to auditor queries is highly valued.
  • Solid understanding of current accounting regulations coupled with the ability to adapt practices promptly as standards evolve over time.
  • Strong analytical capabilities demonstrated through successful participation in budgeting cycles, variance analysis exercises, and financial forecasting initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively within diverse teams; willingness to share knowledge openly while supporting colleagues' development is important.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills combined with a hands-on approach; being detail-oriented while remaining adaptable ensures success in this multifaceted role.
