Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Surgical – Senior Nurse to join our growing team. In this role, you will support our surgical specialists in providing advanced perioperative care and ensure smooth operations in the surgical department.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical Assistance
Assist surgical specialists during procedures, ensuring strict aseptic techniques.
Prepare operating rooms with instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Monitor the functionality of surgical equipment throughout procedures.
Patient Care
Conduct pre-operative assessments, including vital signs and surgical site preparation.
Monitor patients intraoperatively and maintain accurate anesthesia and surgical records.
Provide attentive post-operative care, including monitoring recovery and administering medications.
Care for stable post-operative patients in the wards.
Patient Admission & Coordination
Assist with triage, case admissions, and taking radiographs.
Safely restrain patients for examinations and treatments.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient care.
Manage surgical inventory, order supplies, and ensure stock readiness.
Schedule and coordinate surgical appointments.
Participate in daily surgical rounds, in-patient rounds, and continuous professional development.
Requirements
Diploma in Veterinary Technology/Nursing required; Degree in Veterinary Medicine preferred for senior position.
Minimum 3–5 years of veterinary nursing experience, with strong exposure to surgical and perioperative care.
Prior experience in a GP or specialist veterinary hospital is advantageous.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Strong commitment to patient care and professional growth.
