About the Position:
The WSH Manager is responsible in the strategic and operational execution of safety, health, environmental, and compliance programs across the organization. This role is pivotal in promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legal and internal standards, driving continuous improvement, and implementing sustainability initiatives. The incumbent will oversee WSH operations, managing compliance audits, and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives to mitigate risks and enhance workplace excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and implementation of workplace safety programs in compliance with WSH regulations, industry standards (e.g., ISO 45001), and company policy.
Implement control measures to eliminate or minimize identified risks.
Monitor and review of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) reports, driving the development and implementation of actionable safety plans.
Analyses areas of non-conformance with WSH standard to determine root cause investigations and implementing corrective and preventive to avoid recurrence.
Plan safety training sessions and workshops to embed best practices and raise safety awareness among employees.
Reviewing the use of resources dedicated to safety initiatives, balancing effectiveness with operational needs.
Schedule regular inspections, audits, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote safety standards and best practices.
Implement WSH accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
Monitor environmental impacts and promote initiatives to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint.
Drive process optimization to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability within operational sites.
Assist in supervising and coordinating activities of the HSE team, ensuring effective execution of safety programs and initiatives.
Lead the preparation and coordination of external safety audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
Lead vendor assessments and monitor third-party compliance with safety and contractual obligations.
The candidate is expected to satisfy the following criteria: -
Bachelor’s degree and above in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering)
Minimum 6 years’ experience with sustainability knowledge and experience, preferably in the warehousing industry.
Ability to lead by example and influence a culture of safety.
Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to workplace safety
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk management.
Specific experience in the following areas:
Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated and creative solutions.
Knowledge of current developments, trends, best practices, project management, and related technology.
Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse team of technical managerial/supervisory, professional, and support staff.
Exposure on leading cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiency, and overall QHSE performance.
Relevant knowledge in ISO 9001, 14001, and OSHA 18001, ISM, ISPS standards and HSE management system is highly preferred.
Proficient MS Office skills (e.g., Excel, Words and Power point).
Strong analytical, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and strong sense of accountability.
Ability to travel to multiple local sites as required.
