Principal Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) - #1109567

Responsibilities

• He/She will be expected to independently carry out design and review of the detailed engineering of electrical grid connection / distribution and instrumentation control systems for bulk liquid terminals to ensure they are in compliance with project requirements and according to specifications/ international codes and standards
• Perform system calculations and studies for electrical power systems and substation design, such as load flow, voltage drop, motor starting, short circuit studies and relay co-ordination studies
• Develop specifications, data sheets, test requirements and assist in electrical equipment and instrumentation system testing, commissioning and start-up
• Selection and evaluation of electrical and instrumentation equipment; such as switchgear equipment, Plant Terminal automation systems, Tank gauging system, fire alarm systems and others sub-systems.
• Develop technical bid tabulation to support the selection of major electrical equipment/instrumentation and control systems (including TAS & ERP)
• Develop installation design drawings and connection detail drawings
• Estimate material, construction and labour costs
• Ability to attend, comment and witness equipment performance test during Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test

Requirements

• Bachelor degree (Hons) in Electrical / Control Engineering from a recognized University
• Minimum 10 years in carrying out Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Engineering of E&I systems, preferably in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical or LNG Plants
• Conversant with relevant local and international codes & standards relating to Oil and Gas
• Proficient in MS Suites, AUTOCAD. Experience of ETAP or SPI
• Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solver
• Team player and ability to work with and manage clients and contractors.
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic
• Good knowledge in PLC, SCADA and DCS.
• Fluency in communication, reading and written English.
