Role Overview
As the Inventory Specialist, you will be part of a small energetic team of mosquito biologists, software engineers, and automation experts working to develop better ways to reduce the impact of mosquito-borne diseases. You will be responsible for the ordering, accurate accounting of inventory including shipping and receiving, processing, distributing supplies and materials; and perform a variety of duties including inventory database management, cycle counts, maintenance of materials and generating documents using an internal ticketing system. Will be working with Google Debug Project team in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
● Maintain accurate inventory records for all hardware materials, including, consumables, and both mechanical and electrical equipment.
● Monitor inventory levels and anticipate supply needs to prevent stock outs and delays in factory or laboratory operations.
● Coordinate with suppliers to place orders for necessary materials and track delivery timelines to ensure timely receipt.
● Perform regular inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies. Take corrective actions as needed.
● Coordinate and streamline shipping and logistics for inventory.
● Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately documented in the inventory management system according to established protocols.
● Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to inventory management, including storage, handling, and disposal of materials.
● Work closely with laboratory staff, procurement team, and other stakeholders to address inventory-related issues and optimize supply chain processes.
● Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management practices.
Qualifications
● Previous experience in inventory management within a life sciences or laboratory setting is preferred. (minimum 2 years experience)
● Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
● Proficiency in using inventory management software
● Excellent organizational and time-management skills
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
● Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in record-keeping.
● Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
