JOB OVERVIEW

In this role, candidates will be performing experiments towards development of anti-scaling agents to counter scaling. This will require evaluating several chemistry formulations and validating their performance with static/dynamic tests (membrane studies). Understanding of membrane fouling, scaling, cleaning, antiscalant dosage are crucial for a steady operation of membrane processes like ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design of experiment:

  • Evaluate the efficacy of developed formulations/competitor products for various scales following lab protocols.

  • Plan antiscalant experiments using membrane flow-cell (with synthetic and real process water solutions).

• Performing the experiment:

  • Build the setup necessary for the experiment.

  • Carry out the experiment with good lab practices.

• Data analysis:

  • Identify patterns and/or correlations from the experiment.

  • Analyze the data obtained and provide recommendations for improvements or next phase of testing.

REQUIREMENTS

• Technical background especially in Chemistry/Chemical/Environmental/allied field. (Polytechnic or University students)

• Experience in water chemistry or water testing would be a plus.

• Perseverance, ‘can do’ attitude with an inquisitive mind to question.

• Follow lab protocols industriously.

• Ability to work with high energy in a start-up-based environment and multitask, when necessary.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to convey ideals and technical information effectively across an entire range of audiences.
