Lab Technician/Technologist - DNA Sequencing (UP $3500, Ubi, 3 Months) - #1106404

Job Details:
• Location: Ubi
• Salary: Up to $3500
• Duration: 3 Months Contract (Renewable/Convertible)
• Working hours: Mon-Fri 830am to 530pm

Job Scope:
• Perform DNA extraction, PCR amplification, and sequencing (Sanger/NGS) for microbial and genetic analysis.
• Conduct MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry for microbial identification.
• Perform endotoxin testing (e.g., LAL test) as required.
• Analyze and interpret sequencing data using bioinformatics tools.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab instruments (sequencers, PCR machines, MALDI-TOF, spectrophotometers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Ensure proper documentation of equipment logs and maintenance records.
• Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, test results, and quality control data.

Requirements:
• Diploma/Degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field
• 0-2 years of lab experience with DNA sequencing, PCR, MALDI-TOF and endotoxin testing (academic, internship, or industry)
• Good to have technical skills in sequencing software (e.g., BLAST, Geneious, CLC Bio) and lab equipment
• Familiarity with lab equipment (pipettes, centrifuges, thermocyclers)
