Role Overview

We are seeking a high-impact Director of Strategic Sourcing to lead and transform AEM’s sourcing strategies, with a focus on supplier collaboration, engineering partnership, cost optimization, and operational agility. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, relationship-oriented leader who can influence cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver on cost, lead time, and quality targets in a highly dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

- Champion a collaborative sourcing model, partnering closely with the CTO Office, Engineering, and Product Development teams to align supplier capabilities with AEM’s technology roadmap.

- Lead Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) to improve design outcomes, reduce lead times, and optimize costs.

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that balance cost, lead time, quality, and risk, in alignment with gross margin and operational goals.

Supplier Development & Performance

- Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and evaluate them based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), on time delivery, technical support, local presence, inventory commitment, and roadmap alignment.

- Drive supplier consolidation, self-qualification programs, and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) to improve service levels and reduce overhead.

- Establish robust qualification frameworks with support from Supplier Quality and DFM teams.

Cost Optimization & Digital Transformation

- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the lifecycle: component reuse, modular design, tier pricing, localization, and raw material standardization.

- Leverage digital tools and AI-driven platforms to elevate sourcing analytics, risk visibility, and decision-making.

Operational Excellence

- Support new product introduction (NPI) with agile sourcing practices that balance compliance with speed, ensuring customer needs are met throughout the engineering development phase.

- Maintain strong governance on sourcing compliance while adopting practical, scalable processes in fast-moving environments.
