Key Responsibilities:
1. Kitchen Operations Training
Learn and assist in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating according to company standards.
Observe and participate in the planning of menus, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Support in maintaining food quality, taste, and presentation standards.
2. Food Safety & Hygiene
Understand and implement food safety protocols, HACCP procedures, and hygiene standards.
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Participate in regular cleaning schedules and audits.
3. Inventory & Cost Control
Assist in managing inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of supplies.
Learn cost control measures to minimize wastage and improve profitability.
Track and report kitchen expenses and usage.
4. Team Support & Leadership
Shadow senior kitchen staff to understand staff scheduling, task delegation, and workflow management.
Assist in training junior kitchen staff and monitoring performance.
Develop leadership skills for future supervisory roles.
5. Operational Improvement
Participate in problem-solving for operational issues.
Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Assist in implementing new kitchen procedures and technologies.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field (fresh graduates are welcome).
Internship or prior experience in a commercial kitchen is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Passion for culinary arts and food service.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
