Backend Operator (Simple job, Funeral Services, North) - #1105923

Location: North

Duration: 1 year direct contract

Working Hours: Shift working pattern, 8.15am to 9.45pm (45 mins lunch & 45 min dinner)

Salary: $2,200/month + completion bonus + shift allowance + incentives

Job Description:

• Operate insertion machine

  • Receive coffin

  • Transfer coffin to insertion machine

  • Activate insertion machine

  • Monitor insertion process

• Operate cremator system

  • Ensure cremation starts, by doing physical check

  • Monitor cremator system to ensure no alarm

  • Check cremation status and perform adjustment if required, until cremation is completed, within average timing of 90 minutes

• Manage ashes

  • Perform ash cooling:

  • Type 1 :

    • Rake ashes and put in container

    • Open cremator and do clearing of residual ashes

    • Sort ashes accordingly

    • Transfer ashes to box

    • Put ashes in storage room

  • Type 2:

    • Operate the insertion machine & trolley to retrieve the hot hearth and transfer to hearth parking bay for storage.

    • Insert new hearth for next cremation.

    • Operate the trolley to transfer the hearth (with ashes) to vestry room for ashes collection when requested by Contractor or NEA Officer.

• Others

  • Cleaning of cremator & general area cleaning

  • Perform weekly and monthly routine maintenance or servicing of cremator and coffin transport equipment

Requirements:

• Minimum secondary school education.

• Able to communicate & read simple English.

• Able to do shift work and work on weekends & public holiday.

• Singaporean only.
