As the Finance Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of a respected non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering lives. You will oversee budgeting, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning—driving accountability and transparency in how we manage resources for our community.
Job Scope & Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee the full spectrum of financial and management accounting functions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal management and Board review.
Ensure timely closing of accounts and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. Charities Act, IRAS, NCSS guidelines).
Liaise with external auditors and manage annual audit process.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles in coordination with department heads.
Monitor expenditure and revenue against budgets, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
3. Grant & Fund Management
Ensure proper tracking and utilization of government grants, donor funds, and sponsorships.
Coordinate grant applications, fund disbursement reports, and ensure accountability in accordance with funder requirements.
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
Implement and maintain sound financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.
Conduct regular review of internal financial practices and recommend improvements.
5. Payroll & Taxation
Oversee monthly payroll, CPF submissions, and annual IR8A filings.
Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations, including GST, where applicable.
6. Strategic Financial Planning
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
Evaluate investment strategies, cost efficiency opportunities, and risk management initiatives.
7. Team Leadership
Supervise and develop finance staff, promoting continuous learning and high standards of performance.
Collaborate closely with HR, Fundraising, Programmes, and Operations departments to support cross-functional goals.
8. Board & Stakeholder Engagement
Present financial reports and key insights to the Board, Finance Committee, and external stakeholders as required.
Support the Executive Director in donor stewardship and financial communications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent (CPA/CA preferred).
Min 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in non-profit or social service sector.
Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards and charity financial reporting frameworks.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
