Freight Specialist (6-month contract, until Dec)

Location: Chai Chee

Salary: Up to $4,000

We’re looking for a Freight Specialist on a 6-month contract to coordinate shipments, manage logistics, and ensure timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Audit freight invoices to ensure accurate billing against rate cards and timely payments

• Liaise with logistics service providers (LSP) and finance teams to streamline invoice reconciliation

• Support development of best practices and automation tools for invoice verification

• Prepare monthly freight spend analysis with cost and risk reduction insights

• Manage claims for damaged, lost, or misdirected shipments, coordinating with internal insurers

• Monitor claim KPIs and provide trend reports and improvement recommendations

• Handle Inbound Delivery (IBD) processes, ensuring timely and accurate generation and resolution of exceptions

• Maintain strong vendor relationships and communicate shipment status to internal teams

• Develop freight spend and KPI reports for management review

• Perform other related tasks as assigned

General Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma qualification in Logistics, Business, Finance, or related field

• Experience with invoicing and billing, preferably in freight or logistics

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying invoices and managing data

• Good communication skills to coordinate with vendors and internal teams

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under deadlines

• Basic proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with ERP or freight systems is a plus

• Proactive, reliable team player with a problem-solving attitude
