Head of Supplier Quality (Asia-Based)

We're on the hunt for an exceptional Head of Supplier Quality to lead our supplier quality strategy and team across Asia. This is a high-impact, leadership role that will be instrumental in ensuring the quality excellence of our supply base as we scale hardware production globally. As a key member of our Operations leadership team, you'll drive robust supplier quality systems, develop top-tier processes, and lead a team responsible for maintaining the highest standards from design through mass production.

This position offers the freedom to be based anywhere in Asia, with regular travel across the region to work directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners. Occasional international travel to Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China, Philippines and other global locations may also be required.

What You'll Do

• Lead and inspire a high-performing Supplier Quality team, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
• Design and implement comprehensive supplier quality systems including incoming inspection protocols, non-conformance handling, CAPA management, and supplier improvement programs
• Qualify and onboard new suppliers through rigorous audits, assessments, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with our quality standards
• Develop and monitor KPIs that measure supplier performance, enabling data-driven decisions and prioritization of critical improvements
• Resolve complex quality issues by leading root cause analysis and driving corrective actions across global supply chains
• Build strong partnerships with Tier 1 suppliers across Asia, influencing their internal quality systems and driving alignment with our operational goals
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to embed quality into every stage from NPI through mass production
• Coach and develop your team through regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and personalized growth plans
• Stay ahead of industry trends, adopting best practices and innovations in quality management, lean manufacturing, and supplier development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications such as Six Sigma or ASQ are preferred
• 8+ years of experience managing supplier quality in high-volume manufacturing environments ideally with electro-mechanical systems or similar complex products
• 4+ years of people leadership experience with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams
• Strong working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 and mastery of quality tools like FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, and 8D
• Proven success in supplier audits, process evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives in mass production settings
• Experience with product lifecycle transitions particularly from NPI to high-volume production
• Familiarity with high-reliability product testing, mechanical component manufacturing, and failure analysis is a plus
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally especially across Asia to engage directly with suppliers and manufacturing sites
• A proactive, results-oriented mindset with the flexibility and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
