Job Responsibilities
This company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. As an Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Responsibilities:
Conducting bank reconciliations and assisting the Director in finalizing accounts.
Managing petty cash.
Maintenance of fixed assets.
Entering receipts manually into Xero for several entities.
Processing invoices and staff claims.
Transferring funds and executing telegraphic transfers for payments required.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll records.
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide accurate and timely financial information to management.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and analyzing financial data for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Collaborating with teams in Australia and Singapore.
Handling other ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Proven experience
Knowledge of Office Administrator and Bookkeeper responsibilities, systems and procedures
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Proficiency in Xero or other accounting software is a must
Excellent time management/organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
The Candidate:
Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
3 to 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
