Job Description & Requirements
Responsible for preparing traditional Nyonya kueh items such as kueh salat, kueh dadar, kueh kosui and other signature local delicacies to Violet Oon Singapore’s standards.
Follow standardised recipes and presentation techniques to ensure consistent quality and appearance.
Assist in steaming, moulding, cutting, wrapping and finishing of kuehs.
Monitor stock levels of key kueh ingredients (e.g., coconut, gula melaka, pandan) and assist with ordering as required.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the production area and strictly adhere to food safety guidelines.
Provide guidance to assistants and junior kitchen staff during production.
Report to the Pastry Chef or relevant supervisor on daily kitchen operations and challenges.
Be involved in hands-on preparation and daily mise en place.
Support festive and promotional production as required.
Training will be provided; candidates with some pastry background are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
Minimum Diploma qualification.
Prior experience in pastry, baking, or kueh preparation is advantageous.
Training will be provided to suitable candidates with relevant kitchen background.
Oral and written fluency in English required.
Basic Microsoft Office skills.
Pleasant, responsible, and hardworking individual with a willingness to learn.
Must be a team player with a can-do mindset.
Work Hours:
44-hour work week based on an alternate 5/6-day schedule.
